Cat W
Cat is a self-taught artist with a love for all things unique and a bit off the beaten path. As a mom of four, she finds inspiration in the everyday chaos and beauty of life, blending illustration and storytelling to create art that feels personal and unexpected. With no formal training, her approach is less about following the rules and more about finding joy in the creative process. Beyond painting, Cat enjoys exploring music, film, photography and poetry. She's a devoted cat lover, a fan of horror movies, and has always been drawn to the darker, more mysterious aspects of life. Whether teaching or creating, Cat believes art is about expression, connection, and most importantly--having fun while embracing the unknown.

Alexa L
Alexa Luft is a mixed media artist from Fairfield County, Connecticut. She loves telling stories and capturing beauty and emotion in her artwork. From a young age, Alexa was drawn to art. She’d spend hours drawing and coloring with her mom– who is also creative. She vividly remembers feeling frustrated to the point of tears when her artwork didn’t turn out as neat as her mom’s. Yet, despite her perfectionist tendencies, she kept creating, and over time, her skills improved. Alexa vaguely remembers winning an award at an art show in middle school, but her passion for musical theatre had taken the spotlight, making visual art feel more like a background role in her creative journey. She went on to study acting in college at Belmont University in Nashville, where she ended up becoming the lead scenic painter for the theatre department. She moved back home to Connecticut after freshman year and transferred to Southern Connecticut State University. After taking time off from school to travel and find her path in life, Alexa returned home to Connecticut in 2020. With limited opportunities to pursue theatre, she turned to art as a source of peace during an uncertain time. She fell in love with collage and mixed media. In 2023, she was painting again, and by the end of 2024, Alexa began the Milan Mastery Program—an online art school designed to help artists enhance their skills, discover their unique style, and launch their own art businesses! She’s so excited to be joining the Milford Muse team as an Art Instructor this spring! As a former perfectionist, Alexa is excited to create a fun, zero-pressure experience where everyone can enjoy the creative process!
