Karen is a Textile Designer by trade, but a Painter by heart. She is a graduate of UMASS Dartmouth with a BFA in Textile Design and an Associates of Interior Design from RISD. She currently is an upholstery designer for the RV industry. A Mom of 2 very active volleyball playing teenage daughters and a beach committee volunteer in her town. Lyric is a non-binary painter, sculptor, and illustrator from Gary, Indiana. They graduated with their B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Brown University, where they used the open curriculum to intersect their passion for science with their love for art. They create work about monstering and spectaclizing, using scientific motifs to think about how we as humans examine others. Outside of painting at Muse, they can also be found metalworking to make sculptures and drawing monsters digitally and physically. They enjoy creating fantasy stories about humanity's relationship with biology and the natural world. During her studies she focused on Production Design and Art Direction, which led her to rediscover her relationship with creating art of her own. Although she once hated painting, she has reworked her connection to it, and has learned how to love it again. In her free time she draws and paints corners of the world that catch her eye, from a candle lit bath tub to a little pink house.
